WEDNESDAY Update:  Lower Humidity – Brief Heat Break –  Tropics Waking Up

Good Morning!  How about some good weather news for a change.  We deserve it after weeks of brutal heat.  Get ready for a little break from heat and humidity.  Today’s high will be down close to 91.  Dewpoints will be in the low to mid 60’s by afternoon.  It will feel noticeably much nicer.  Tonight will be almost comfortable.  Upper 60’s.  Not only that, we should be storm-free for several days.  That’s great news.  We’ll be back in the upper 90’s over the weekend. The humidity will start to creep back.  Next week there will be a few days near 100.  But, all of a sudden the tropics are starting to wake-up.  There are now 3 Areas to Watch.  And, the prospects for the next 10 days are very interesting, indeed.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion

TODAY:  Sunshine.  Not as hot.  Less Humid.  High 91. NW wind 5 to 10 mph.   Clear, comfortable tonight. Low 68.

Raise your hand if you like the idea of less heat and lower humidity. Yesterday the afternoon dewpoints were near 80. Today, how about near 60 in central Alabama! What a difference a day makes. Enjoy this nice break!

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Storm-free for several days.   Sunny days.  Mostly clear nights.  Low 90’s Thursday.  Upper 90’s  Friday through Sunday.  Near 100 by Monday and Tuesday.  Manageable  humidity levels through Friday.  Dewpoints creeping up near 70 by late Saturday and Sunday.

Next week will be hot. Here’s the 10 day temperature blend.

TROPICAL UPDATE:  The Tropics are waking up.  NHC is monitoring two new Areas to Watch  in the  Tropical Atlantic.  And now, there’s a new Area to Watch in the Gulf.

The EURO model continues to advertise a huge uptick in tropical potential from the African coast to the southeastern US and the Gulf of Mexico over the next 10 days.  The 10  Day Tropical Depression Probability map is very colorful.  Even in our back yard…the Gulf.

In fact, even the Euro 10 Day Tropical Storm Probability map is looking more and more interesting.  Here we go.

The GFS has a bogus Gulf Hurricane in the Gulf before this month ends.  But, I prefer not to show you that graphic.

Thanks for reading this Blog this morning! This morning we are LIVE on the radio from 6 to 9 on NewsTalk 93.1.    I’ll have another update for you in the morning.  Have a nice day!
