FRIDAY Update:  Better Rain Chance Today & Saturday – Fewer Storms Sunday

Good Morning!  It could be wet at times next couple days. Scattered to numerous showers and a few thunderstorms today & Saturday.  That could affect a lot of outdoor plans.  Be flexible.  Not as many storms and more abundant on the sunshine Sunday.  Cooler by Sunday night.  Some nice comfortable nights are in our future.  You’re going to love the forecast next week.  In the Tropics, New England is poised for a close encounter with Lee. Here’s a brief forecast discussion. 

TODAY:    Mostly cloudy.  Scattered to numerous showers and a few thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.  High 83, held down by clouds and showers.  Low tonight 72. 

Future Radar.  Showers and storms will be random but more numerous today.

Both today and Saturday the better rain chance will be east of I-65. 

The east 2/3 of Alabama have the best chance of getting wet next 2-3 days.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Scattered to numerous showers and a few thunderstorms, Saturday.  That could affect a lot of outdoor plans.  Be flexible.  Not as many storms and more abundant on the sunshine Sunday.  Cooler by Sunday night.  Some nice comfortable nights are in our future.  Mostly sunny Monday through Wednesday with highs in the 80’s and lower humidity.  Good stuff.

TROPICAL UPDATE:  There are currently 4 features in the east Atlantic.  Lee and Tropical Storm Margot.  Plus, there’s Invest 97-L, which is likely to become Nigel.  There’s an Area to Watch off of Africa. 

Hurricane Lee is a Category ` Hurricane with 85 mph winds. Moving north at 16 mph .     Parts of New England (particularly Maine) and Atlantic Canada is in the cross hairs.   Although it will not make Landfall in the United states, Tropical storm warnings are in effect from the Mass.  Coast through Maine.  Looks like it’ll make landfall in Atlantic Canada over the weekend.  Here’s the latest from NHC.
