THURSDAY Update:   Final Warm & Dry Day – Active Wet Pattern Ahead

Good Morning!  Today will be the final warm & dry day.  Big changes on the way. Get ready for a new pattern. A Series of disturbances drifting through the area spells a wet weekend.  In fact, I’ve gone  way up not only on the rainfall probabilities Friday through Sunday, the models are now advertising some potentially impressive rainfall amounts in spots.  We obviously need the rain.  We are in a serious drought.  Not only that.  Temperatures will be much cooler.   By Sunday, we may struggle to reach 60.  Another storm system could bring more rain in the middle of next week.  Looking way out, Thanksgiving week looks very active, and potentially quite stormy. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:  Patchy Dense Fog this morning.  Expect a sun/cloud mix again today.  Warm  again.  High near 82.   South wind at 5 to 10 mph.  Mostly Cloudy tonight.   Isolated showers possible overnight.  Low near 60.  (Normal hi low 73/45)

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Big changes.  A new pattern. Series of disturbances drifting through spells a wet weekend.  We obviously need the rain.  I’ve gone WAY up on the rainfall probabilities for the weekend.  Showers likely Friday.  Periods of rain Saturday.  More showers on Sunday.  MUCH cooler.  Lower 60’s by Saturday.  Near 60 Sunday.  Monday looks dry.  But, on Tuesday, as the next system approaches, I’ll bring in another chance of showers.

All signs point to a very active weekend.  Series of disturbances.  Periods of rain.

Here’s the expected rainfall through Sunday.  As you can see, all of a sudden, the expected rain amounts are much more substantial.  There’s even a swath of 1”+through central Alabama.

Here’s the 10 Day Model Blend temperature trend.  Much cooler days ahead.  Nothing freezing.

DISTANT:  Both the GFS and EURO are advertising the potential for perhaps two substantial storm system as Thanksgiving Week.  Maybe a severe weather.   Too early to be specific.  And, the timeline will change…of course.

Thanks for reading this Blog this morning! This morning we are LIVE on the radio from 6 to 9 on NewsTalk 93.1.    I’ll have another update for you in the morning.  Have a nice day!
