MONDAY Update:   Gulf Coast Storm System – Very Wet Mid-Week

Good Morning!  This brand new week is starting off dry.  But, a developing storm system in south Texas will move northeast in through the northern Gulf.  The risk of rain will enter the forecast in the overnight hours tonight.  Rain probabilities will increase by Tuesday afternoon.  The highest rain chance will be Tuesday night and Wednesday.  Locally heavy rainfall amounts are possible, especially from the US 80/I-85 southward.  There could be excessive amounts over south Alabama.  No severe weather is expected.  There could be few leftover showers Thursday.  Sunny and nice weather returns Saturday.  There still could be a rather robust Thanksgiving Week storm system around Tuesday. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:  Considerable cloudiness.  Some sunbreaks.  High in the upper 60’s.  Cloudy tonight.  Small Risk of rain after Midnight.  Low 53.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Periods of rain Tuesday & Wednesday.

Take a look at the expected rainfall this week   Some very excessive amounts are possible.  Truly a soaker.  Most  of the rain will be on Tuesday PM and Wednesday.

The GFS and EURO models continue to hint at a potential “big deal” storm system Thanksgiving week.  Could be a Severe Weather Threat, perhaps.

Fortunately, I don’t see any arctic air in our future over the next 10 days.

TROPICAL:  That Area to Watch (low pressure) in the Caribbean is going to be very interesting to watch over the next several days as it slowly develops and then grows stronger and begins to move northeast.   A tropical Depression could form in a couple of days.  This could be a system that moves up the US east coast and becomes a Nor’easter.  If it ever gets a name, the next name is Vince.
