THURSDAY Update: Much Colder Air – Chilly Days, Cold Nights

Good Morning!  Much colder air is moving in.  Get ready for a string of very chilly days and cold nights.  Nights will be sub-freezing.  Friday’s high may not make it out of the 40’s.  That’s pretty chilly considering the normal high is 60°.  Otherwise the forecast is uneventful.   Looks like we’ll be storm-free and dry through the rest of 2023 with cool days and cold nights.  The next chance of showers arrives New Years Day.

TODAY:    Sunshine, but breezy & much colder.   High will struggle to reach the lower 50’s.  West wind 10 to 15 + MPH.  Clear and cold tonight.  Low near 30.

An upper low up at 20,000 feet will help promote the colder weather.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Continued uneventful.  Dry and storm-free for the rest of the year.  Chilly days and cold nights.  On Friday we may not make it out of the 40’s.  Sunshine will dominate the final weekend of 2023.  It will continue well below normal.  The next chance of showers arrives New Years Day.

Here’s the expected rainfall through the rest of the year.  We should be dry at least through Sunday.  The models bring in the risk of showers on New Years Day.

Here’s the 10 Day Model Temperature Trend.  We’re getting into an extended pattern of COLDER weather.

Kind of interesting.  The models are hinting at a few snowflakes which could accumulate over extreme north Alabama by late Friday and Friday night.  Just a novelty.

Thanks for reading this Blog this morning!  Have a great day.  Tomorrow, everything is back to normal, including a video forecast discussion and Back LIVE on the radio on NewsTalk 93.1
