TUESDAY Update: Active Pattern Ahead – Cold Rain Returning

Good Morning!  Expect one more dry day.  But, weather changes are on the way, as a Gulf Coast storm system delivers a batch of COLD rain by Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night.  Dry weather will return Thursday and daytime Friday, but it won’t last long.  There’s more wet weather on the way.  Showers and thunderstorms are a good bet by Friday night into Saturday. And, there’s apparently a “Big Deal” storm system early next week which looks potentially concerning. January will be a bumpy ride.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:    Cool.   Mostly sunny.   High near 54.   North wind 6 to 12. MPH.  Increasing clouds tonight.  Low near 33.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   A cold miserable rain overspreads the area Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night.   Dry weather will return Thursday and daytime Friday, but it won’t last long.  There’s more wet weather on the way.  Showers and thunderstorms are a good bet by Friday night into Saturday.  Looks like the chilly, well below normal pattern will continue.

The Wednesday storm system will cruise along the Gulf Coast.  No severe weather is expected.

Another storm system will bring more extensive rain Friday night/Saturday.  Maybe some thunderstorms.

Here’s the expected rainfall through the next 7 days. Showers and thunderstorms are a good bet by Friday night into Saturday. And, there’s apparently a “Big Deal” storm system early next week which looks potentially concerning. January will be a bumpy ride.

That storm system next week, perhaps, Monday night into Tuesday Jan. 8/9, looks like a very big deal.  Potentially Severe?  We’ll see.  I would not be surprised.

Here’s the 10 Day Model Temperature Trend.   Lots of ups and downs in between storm systems.

UH OH. Could we be dealing with a southward moving Polar Vortex by mid January? This is the EURO. Food for thought. Potential really big deal. Stay tuned.

This morning everything is normal including Live on the radio 6 to 9AM on NewsTalk 93.1 WACV.  There will b e another Blog update and Forecast Video in the morning.
