FRIDAY Update:  Cold Front Approaches – Chilly Weekend Ahead

Good morning!  Expect one more great mid-February day today. Like yesterday, we may reach 70° again today.  Get ready for a big change.   A cold front is approaching from the north.  Meanwhile, a Gulf disturbance will also brush by the area.  Showers will move in overnight tonight. Rain probabilities will be low tonight and Saturday morning.  Colder air will funnel in over the weekend.  Saturday’s  high will be will be about 16 degrees cooler than Friday, and quite breezy.  Expect a freeze Saturday and Sunday night. We’ll be in the upper 20’s by Monday morning. The Weekend chill won’t last long. A big temperature re-bound is expected next week.  Seventies will return starting Wednesday.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:   Mostly cloudy and comfortable.  High today 70.  (Normal: 65/40)   SW wind 5 to 10 mph.  Dry through the evening hours tonight.  Risk of spotty showers after Midnight. (and early Saturday morning)  Low 48.

Rainfall amounts will be spotty and light.  Look at all the rain out in the Gulf!

As our Super El Nino quickly collapses, get ready for a quick transition to La Nina. Tornado outbreaks may be more common. And, the number of hurricanes may be higher than normal.
