Good morning! Weather changes are on the way soon as a powerful storm system edges this way. Today will be mostly cloudy and comfortably warm. There’s rain on the radar this morning. Widely scattered showers will dot the radar screen. Many towns will stay dry. Widespread rain and thunderstorms especially from the afternoon and increasing Wednesday evening/night.. Locally very heavy rainfall amounts. Flooding possible. Severe weather threat, too. Level 3 Severe threat from Montgomery/Troy westward, especially Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening. There could be a few leftover showers on Thursday. Nice weather returns Friday Saturday. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

NEXT FEW DAYS: The main event of this week is Wednesday PM. Widespread rain and thunderstorms. Locally very heavy rainfall amounts. Flooding possible. Severe weather threat, too. There will be leftover scattered showers Thursday. Nice weather returns Friday and through the weekend. Warm/comfortable weekend.
Rainfall amounts could be quite impressive. MODERATE Risk on the Excessive Rainfall Outlook. Easily 2-5” if not more in spots. Flooding is possible.
From the Storm Prediction Center” The Day 3 outlook for Wednesday/Wednesday night has been upgraded to a Level 3 risk west of a Montgomery/Troy line. There’s even a Level 4 Moderate Risk on Alabama’s western border. All modes of severe weather are on the table including tornadoes. The severe weather threat window begins in the afternoon and continues into Wednesday night.
