WEEKEND UPDATE: Summer-like Weekend

Good morning!  The weather news continues to be very good.  Get ready for a dry, very warm, sensational weekend forecast with daily highs in the middle 80’s, and 70’s on the coast. Your biggest complaint today might be the amount of clouds.  Limited sunshine, An approaching weakening front will bring a risk of widely showers and storms back to the forecast early next week. An Upper High across the Southeast US  will hold steady and strong. It will continue to keep storm systems at bay. Meanwhile, our series of very warm days will continue.

TODAY:  Mostly cloudy at times.  Limited sunshine.  High 86. Breezy.  Southeast wind 6 to 15 mph.  Partly cloudy and mild tonight.  Low 65.  (Normal 81/55)

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Looks like a sensational  dry/storm-free weekend with lots of sunshine. Highs in the mid 80’s.  Lows in the 60’s.  An approaching weakening front will bring the risk of widely scattered showers and a few thunderstorms back to the forecast Monday night and Tuesday.  Right now, it looks like the rain chance will be relatively low small. At the moment, I don’t think the storms will be severe.

Here’s the 10 day temperature trend. The warm pattern will continue for several days.

SUPER OUTREAK Anniversary:   Today is a huge Day in Weather History. APRIL 27, 2011…Not only this country’s biggest Super Tornado Outbreak, Alabama was at the epicenter. There were 62 tornadoes and 252 people lost their lives. Staggering.  Stunning. …  The Multi-state tornado total 360..  There were 19 EF-3’s   11 EF-4’s and 4 EF-5’s on that horrific Wednesday 13 years ago.

The deadly Tuscaloosa/Birmingham tornado.

The Elmore county/Lake Martin EF-4 which killed 5.  Flattened the Myers Trailer Park, then got stronger as it approached Lake Martin.

Here’s a feature I did looking back on April 27. 2011 on the 10th anniversary.

Yesterday was the biggest Tornado Day so far this year out in the great plains. 75 tornado reports. Today will be a VERY dangerous day in the middle of the country.

BEACH FORECAST:  Perfect weekend Beach forecast.  Plenty of sun.  Comfortable temperatures.  The Gulf water is up to 72°.   Rip current risk:  HIGH Today through Sunday.
