MONDAY UPDATE: Summer Preview Continues

Good morning!  After a Hot Cinco De Mayo weekend, expect not much change today.  We’ll be in the upper 80’s to near 90 again today and near 90 Tuesday.  Both days will feature at least a small chance of random widely scattered showers and storms. We could be close to a record high by Wednesday. High 93.  Best chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms this week will be on Thursday into early Friday. Perhaps a few stronger storms.  We’ll see.  Here’s my brief forecast Discussion.

TODAY:  Sun/cloud mix. Very Warm.. Highs in the upper 80’s  to near 90.   Widely Scattered random “hit or miss” storms.  Partly Cloudy very mild tonight.  Low 68.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Not much change.  Hot Tuesday with isolated random showers and storms – mostly PM.  We could be close to a record high by Wednesday. High 93.  Best chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms this week will be on Thursday and Friday.

Severe Risk?  Parts of west and north Alabama could see some strong to severe storms Tuesday & Wednesday.  We’ll have to watch Thursday closely for some strong to severe storms.

Here’s the 10 day temperature trend.  A big cool-down by the weekend.  Some nice air.

Here’s the expected rainfall for the week ahead. Heaviest rainfall (1”+) from central Alabama northward.  North Alabama could be drenched.

Closing in on the start on hurricane season.  Won’t be long now.
