Good morning! Alabama continues to heat up.. Summer heat is locked in through Memorial Day Weekend. Humidity is increasing, but not out of control. Dewpoints are in the 60’s, which is bad enough, Dewpoints will reach 70 or above this weekend, The heat index will be near or above 100. Actual highs will be around 90 each day. We’re dry through Thursday. But, starting Friday, and over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, there will be a few widely scattered, random, “hit or miss” storms each day, Highs over the weekend will be in the lower 90’s. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.
TODAY: Mostly sunny. Very warm. High near 90. SE wind 5 to 10 mph. Partly cloudy tonight. Low in the mid 60’s.
MORE storminess in the middle of the country. A 1500+ mile swat of severe weather threat from Texas to New York state after 23 tornadoes in the Midwest yesterday. Several fatalities.

Starting Friday and over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, there will be a few widely scattered, random, “hit or miss” storms each day, Highs over the weekend will be in the lower 90’s.
The combination of highs in the lower 90’s and dewpoints at or above 70 will produce Heat Indices very close to the triple digit heat indices for the first time this season.
Spotty random storms over the weekend. Best chance Monday, The best rain chance will hug the Tennessee border. It’s a pretty routine Memorial Day Weekend.
BEACH FORECAST: Should be a pretty typical Memorial Day weekend.. Widely Scattered, random, “hit or miss”, mainly afternoon and evening showers and storms will be prowling around. Not a big deal, Gulf water temperature 79. Moderate rip current risk Friday through Sunday.
