THURSDAY UPDATE:  Hotter and Hotter – Still Dry

Good Morning!  I’m still at the AMS Broadcast Weather Conference in Myrtle Beach through the end of the week, so my updates will be brief.  Alabama is still getting hotter.  While today we are headed for the middle 90s.  It looks like we’ll be in the upper 90’s Friday through Sunday. It will become more humid by the weekend. Expect triple digit heat indices Friday through Sunday.  Saturday, with a Heat Index near 105, we’ll be close to Heat Advisory criteria.  Our forecast is dry for now.  It may be Sunday before random widely scattered afternoon and evening storms return.  Meanwhile, NHC is still tracking Invest 90-L, which over Florida today and then heads toward the Atlantic. In the southwest Gulf, that Area to Watch looks to be a potential problem for Mexico and/or south Texas. Here’s my brief forecast Discussion straight from the Beach.
