Good Morning from Myrtle Beach! Alabama is getting a little hotter everyday. Today will be the hottest day of the year, so far, as we head for the upper 90’s. Normal high 91. The record is100. Records are in jeopardy today, tomorrow and Sunday. The Heat index will be into triple digits. We’ll likely have our first Heat Advisory Saturday with 105 or higher on the Heat Index. Radar will be quiet again today and Saturday. Widely scattered random PM storms will return Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, NHC is still tracking Invest 90-L, off the southeast US coastline heading northeastward. Then there’s still that Area to Watch in the southwest Gulf. Here’s my brief forecast Discussion straight from the Beach.
TODAY: Mostly sunny and hot. Near record High in the upper 90’s. A little more humid. Heat index 100+. Light wind. Mainly clear tonight. Low 74.
RECORDS THREATENED?: Today, tomorrow and Sunday we will be close to record territory (Normal hi/lo 91/69).
NEXT FEW DAYS: Records are in jeopardy today, tomorrow and Sunday. The Heat index will be into triple digits. We’ll likely have our first heat advisory Saturday with 105 or higher on the Heat Index. Radar will be quiet again today and Saturday. Widely scattered random PM storms will return Sunday and Monday.
TROPICAL: NHC is still tracking Invest 90-L, off the southeast US coastline heading northeastward. Here in Myrtle Beach, I can literally wave at 90-L as it passes right off the SC coast,. Then, there’s still that Area to Watch in the southwest Gulf. Looks to be a potential problem for Mexico and/or south Texas. First two names are Alberto and Beryl.
Check out the EURO Tropical Storm probabilities through Day 10.
GFS advertises more potential Gulf trouble in the Day 8-14 time frame. BUT never take the GFS to the bank. I’m just showing you…..
BEACH FORECAST: Looks good!
Thanks for reading the blog. I’m at the American Meteorological Broadcast Conference in Myrtle Beach for the rest the week.
While Daddy is in Myrtle Beach, Chase seems to be very happy, and having a Blast at the Budell household.
Last night we had our Conference Dinner.
This is the final day of the conference. I get on a plane back to Alabama Saturday morning. I’ll have another update in the morning. The Weekend Blog Update
