TUESDAY UPDATE: Heat Advisory Continues – Spotty Random Storms

Good Morning!  The relentless heat continues. Heat Advisory continues in effect, again today.  Today will probably be the last day  in this series.  Dangerous Heat index 105+ again today. Once again, expect random scattered storms, most likely in the afternoon and evening.  We’ll start to see the number of storms to become Widely scattered Wednesday through Saturday. There will be fewer storms on radar.  Little daily change with highs in the middle 90’s and triple digit heat indices each day. Lows at night in the muggy mid 70’s. The Remnats of Beryl are in Arkansas moving northeast.  There are no other features bring tracked in the tropics right now.   Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY: Heat Advisory continues. Sun/cloud mix. Heat Advisory continues.   High 95.  Dangerous Heat index 105+.  Scattered random storms most numerous in the afternoon and evening hours. Low tonight 75.

Beryl will have no effect on our weather as it moves northwest.  Meanwhile the Heat Advisory continues for incredible north day.  Probably the last day in this series.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  The intense heat will continue.  Highs will average in the mid 90’s for much of the week ahead. In fact we could see upper 90;s Friday through Sunday. Widely Scattered random “hit or miss storms” will populate the radar each day, especially in the afternoon and evening hours.  Lows at night will be in the muggy mid 70’s.

Even though there has been a very generous supply of those random downpours each of the last several days, much of the state is in a Level 1 or 2 Drought status. The next Drought monitor map will be available Thursday,

TROPICAL UPDATE:  . The Remnats of Beryl are in Arkansas moving northeast toward the Great Lakes.

Deadly Beryl has had quite a journey in the last two weeks.  Certainly a storm for the history books.  We won’t know till maybe next year, but it is certainly likely the name Beryl will join the retired list.

There are no other features bring tracked in the tropics right now.
