WEEKEND UPDATE:  Still HOT and DRY

Good Morning!  We’re stuck in a Hot and Dry pattern for at least  a few more days. Very little day to day change.  Highs will be in the upper 90’s through Thursday. Sunny & Hot.  We’ll mention a small chance of widely scattered storms by Wednesday.  The best chance of ANY showers will be close to coast near that stalled front.  

TODAY: Lots of sunshine.  Hot & dry .High near 98.   Heat index 102 to 105. NW wind 5 to 10 mph.  Low 75.

Best Chance of any showers today will be near the front down on the coast.

ON THIS DATE:  On this date in 2007, during that incredible August Heatwave, we came close to tying our ALL TIME MGM Record high.  We got to 106.  The all time record is 107 from 1881. 

. TROPICAL: Remnant Low Debby is located near the Maine/Canadian border.Meanwhile, that Area to Watch in the Tropical Atlantic heading toward the Caribbean has a high chance of development.   Right now there is 80% chance of development next days.  The next name available is Ernesto.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Our extremely hot and bone dry pattern will continue.  Expect upper 90’s through Thursday. (Normal hi/lo 94/72)  Lows at night in the mid 70’s.  We’ll mention a very small chance of random storms starting Wednesday.

BEACH: The weekend Beach forecast looks pretty goo.  Rain chances will be very low.  Isolated storms.  Highs in the low 90’s.  Gulf water 88.  Medium Rip Current Risk.

PERCEID METEOR SHOWER:  We’re expecting great viewing weather this weekend for the peak of the Perceid Meteor shower.  PEAK Sunday and  Monday night.  Arguably the BEST Meteor shower of the year.  Check out the northeast sky, especially after Midnight.   Up to 100/hour. Go far away from city lights.
