MONDAY UPDATE:  Tropics Coming Alive

Good Morning!  We’re stuck in a Hot and Dry pattern for at least  a few more days. Very little day to day change.  Highs will be in the upper 90’s through Thursday. Sunny & Hot.  We’ll mention a small chance of widely scattered storms Wednesday through Saturday.  Meanwhile, there’s a new player in the Tropics. Potential Tropical Cyclone 5, and it will eventually become Ernesto in the Atlantic And, the next few weeks could get quite busy in  the Tropics as a parade of tropical waves comes of Africa.   Here’s my brief forecast discussion

TODAY: Lots of sunshine.  Still Hot & dry. High near 97. I expect that the Heat Index may stay below 100 again today.   Light wind. 5 to 10 mph.  Low 73.

. TROPICAL: There’s a new player in the Tropics. PTC. 5 has formed.  It will eventually become Ernesto in the Atlantic. The Virgin Islands and even Puerto Rico could be affected by mid-week.

.And, the next few weeks could get quite busy in  the Tropics as a parade of tropical waves comes of Africa.

Here’s the EURO Ensemble tracks om Future Ernesto.  While most tracks are well out in the Atlantic, Maritime Canada needs to be watchful.  Ernesto could become a major hurricane.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Our extremely hot and bone dry pattern will continue.  Expect upper 90’s most days this week.  Lows at night in the low to mid 70’s.  We’ll mention a very small chance of random storms starting Wednesday. Widely scattered storms.

Take a look at the potential rain for the work week ahead, Get out the garden hose!

PERCEID METEOR SHOWER:  If you missed the Perceid Meteor shower last night, the peak will continue through tonight.  Arguably the BEST Meteor shower of the year.  Check out the northeast sky, especially after Midnight.   Up to 100/hour. Go far away from city lights.

Thanks for reading the blog. There will be another complete Blog update and video forecast discussion tomorrow morning.  This morning, everything is normal including LIVE on the Radio from 6 to 9AM on NewsTalk 93.1 – WACV.  Have a nice day!
