Good morning! Our long string of warm, dry days rolls on. A huge ridge of Upper Level High Pressure will keep us High and Dry through the week ahead. The days and nights will remain well above normal. And there’s still no rain drops in our future for the next several days. We’re set for the third driest months ever recorded since records started 152 years ago. Here’s my brief forecast discussion video.
TODAY: Mostly cloudy. Then, sunshine later. Quite warm for October. High 84. East wind10 to 15 mph. Mostly clear and mild tonight . Low near 60.
Yesterday’s low was 53 and the high was 90. Previous: Close to the record of 90 in 2010. (Normal hi/Lo 76/50) Rainfall for the month of October: .02”. Deficit for the month: -2.47.
A weak frontal system is stretched across south Alabama but will continue to have little or no effect on our weather. It’s washing out.

NEXT FEW DAYS: The warm and dry pattern continues for several more days. Highs in the low to mid 80’s days, and lower 60’s at night. Still dry through Saturday.

TROPICAL UPDATE: NHC is tracking and Area to Watch in the SW Caribbean. It’s broad area of low pressure, part of the Central American gyre (CAG). Although the potential for development this week, because of a hostile environment, the global models are in better agreement that an organized low pressure may start to develop this weekend and move northward in the west Caribbean. A favored area of devotement in this part of the season.
Major global models continue to hint at future tropical development. Here’s the EURO tropical depression probability.
