WEDNESDAY Y UPDATE: Strong Storm Risk Late Tonight & Thanksgiving – ARCTIC Plunge Will Follow

Good morning!  Today will be comfortable, and a good travel day.  It starts with DENSE FOG this morning, but it will give way to aa sun/cloud mix.  Highs in the 70’s.  Well be mainly dry through the evening hours.  But, an approaching Cold Front will bring a band of strong to severe storms into the state late tonight and  Thanksgiving. Damaging wind gusts is the main risk.  Behind the front, expect a huge change. Winter is coming.  It’ll be a significant change to much colder. Although the Arctic Chill air will begin to move in on Friday, it will become progressively colder over the weekend.  Get ready for a change of wardrobe. Wind Chill will be a factor over the weekend.   Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.

TODAY: DENSE FOG advisory this morning.   (Normal 67/41)  Limited sunshine today.  Sun/cloud mix.  Mild.  High 74.  SW wind 6 to 12 mph. Cloudy, generally dry this evening. (Rain chance 20% or less through Midnight)  Showers and thunderstorms move in in the overnight hours.  Some storms could be strong to severe.  Low tonight 63.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  This week’s second Cold Front will be a bigger deal.  It’ll bring in showers and storms overnight Wednesday night and on Thanksgiving.  Some of those storms could be strong/severe. Behind the front, MUCH colder air will follow. An Arctic Plunge is on the way. Black Friday and Iron Bowl Saturday will be breezy and cold.  it will become progressively colder over Iron Bowl weekend.  The coldest morning will likely be Monday 12/4.  Wind Chill will be a big factor.

Marginal Severe Threat tonight and Thursday.  Damaging wind gusts is the main risk. A brief tornado or two can’t be ruled out.  Our Weather App will keep you on top of the action with instant push notifications.

THANKSGIVING:  Showers and locally strong to severe storms,  Baxt chance morning and mid-day.  Marginal Severe Risk. High near 70 before Noon.  Windy and turning cooler in the afternoon.  Temperatures will fall to the 50’s.  Low Thursday night near 40.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Get ready for an Arctic Invasion.   Friday through Monday, highs will only be in the low to mid 50’s but winds will make it seem colder. We will be at or below freezing Friday through Monday night at least.  Some nights in the 20’s.   Wind chill will be the factor.  We’ll be dry for several days.   Normal hi/lo 67/41.
