Good morning! Early th1s morning there is rain on the radar as a cold front moves through the state. The rain will exit the area early. I think we’ll even see some sun by afternoon. Another shot of arctic air is in our future. It will turn windy and colder again later today, tonight. The Wind chill will likely reach the teens by Friday morning. Most of the weekend should be dry and quite cool. But, we may tease the middle 60’s by Sunday afternoon. The next big rain event will hold off until Sunday night and Monday. Could be a soaker. We need the rain. 30% of the state is still in a Severe Drought. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.
TODAY: Risk of showers very early. Rain will exit. Cloudy this morning. Gradually sunny and quite breezy later today. West wind 10 to 15 gusting to 20+ mph in the afternoon. High today 56, before the front, then steady or falling in the afternoon.. Clear, windy and cold tonight. Low 25. Wind chill by Dawn in the teens.

FRIDAY AM WIND CHILL: Friday morning will be another morning in the 20’s. But, the wind chill will reach the teens in many areas, even into south Alabama. Down to 20 near Mobile. Dress in layers.
NEXT FEW DAYS: Friday will be brisk. Morning low in the 20’s, wind chill in the teens, even into south Alabama. Most of the weekend should be dry and rather cool. The next big rain event will hold off until Sunday night and Monday.

The Drought Monitor from last Thursday shows a Severe Drought for 30% of the state. We get a new map later this morning.
The 10 Day Model Blend Temperature Trend. . Friday will be cold. Sunday will be close to normal. BUT, thankfully, next week will be milder. Let’s hope that Arctic air will not bother us for awhile, after this current episode.
