FRIDAY UPDATE:   Weekend Warm-up Ahead

Good morning from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic!   Early this morning, as I type this pre-dawn, it’s very close to freezing at MGM.  Yesterday’s low 29, high 57.  The good news is – temperatures are going to start to moderate.  We’ll tease 60 today and by Sunday we’ll be in the upper 60’s.  Good parade weather for the Montgomery parade this evening, and,  I’m very optimistic about Christmas n the Coosa tomorrow. Scattered showers hold off till late Saturday night/early Sunday.  That’s the first of three systems to affect us in the next 7 days.  Showers will return Monday night, with system #2.  And, one more system could deliver showers & storms Wednesday night into next Thursday.  Too early to say if that will be a Severe Threat.  But temperatures will be quite mild next week,    Here’s my brief forecast video discussion.

TODAY:  Our temperatures are turning around in the right direction.  Today will be milder.  Partial sunshine. But, clouds will increase.  High 59,  East wind 5 to `10 mph. Partly cloudy.  Not as cold tonight,  Low 44,

NEXT FEW DAYS: The warm-up continues this weekend.   Next risk of scattered showers late Saturday night and early on Sunday.

Here’s the 10 day Temp trend.  Mild next week.  Christmas week starts to cool-down.

Expected rainfall through the next 7 days.  It shows all the big rain well northwest of us.  (so far).

CHRISTMAS?    I am NOT comfortable saying anything to you about the Christmas forecast yet.   12 days out.  The EURO model shows a stormy Christmas eve, with the rain lingering into part of Christmas.  The American GFS has us bone dry.  So, guess what? I’m not comfortable saying anything about the Christmas forecast yet.  Stay tuned.

.

I’m on a tropical vacation for the next few days in the Dominican Republic.  Here’s a few Thursday snapshots.  😊  Including the most amazing Lobster experience of MY LIFE at WAVES last night.  Weather has been perfect.

HERE’S Breakfast at Sunrise at Shutters on the beach.

Lobster Dinner at WAVES. Incredible. Lobster experience of my life.

You’ll still here from me, But,  my blog updates will be very short. My weather will continue on the radio, across the dial on the 8 Bluewater Broadcasting stations. Bare with me.  Thanks!
