Good morning from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! The best news I have is the milder temperatures. We’ll be in the middle 60’s today, upper 60’s Sunday and 70’s Monday through Wednesday. Two or three storm systems will affect us through Thursday. The first two are very weak and will just graze by the area. The first one will bring a risk of widely scattered showers in the overnight hours tonight and Sunday AM. Another weak system brings a risk of showers overnight Monday night and early Tuesday Then more showers and perhaps some thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday.
TODAY: Temperatures are milder. Today, sunshine will be limited. Breezy and mild. High in the mid 60’s. East wind 10 to 15 gusting as high as 25 mph. Dry through the evening hours tonight. Risk of widely scattered showers beginning in the overnight hours tonight and early Sunday, before ending.
NEXT FEW DAYS: Small risk of widely scattered showers early Sunday before Noon. The warm-up continues. Upper 60’s Sunday 70+ Monday through Wednesday. Another weak system brings a risk of showers overnight Monday night and early Tuesday Then more showers and perhaps some thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday.
Here’s the 10 day Temp trend. Very Mild to warm next week, through Wednesday. Christmas week starts to cool-down.
Here’s Expected rainfall through the next 7 days. Although three systems will tease us through nest Thursday. But, not much rain is expected, This shows all the big rain well northwest of us. (so far).
CHRISTMAS? The jury is out. The usually reliable EURO model shows a rather robust storm system on Christmas Day. Showers and thunderstorms. Strong?
But, the American GFS model shows absolutely nothing.
So, I have not much confidence in what will happen Christmas Day. Both models have us in the lower 60’s for highs.
. Meanwhile, I’m still in Punta Cana, DR. Today is my last FULL day. Here’s a few Friday snapshots. My lunch view yesterday. Best mushroom soup I have ever had. A “healthy” lunch. Soup and shrimp salad.
A very special dinner last night at the Blind Butcher.
Even some entertainment at dinner. Very unique restaurant.
Thanks for reading the Blog this morning. Next scheduled update is usually Monday. But, considering I fly home late Sunday night from my Caribbean vacation — honestly there may not be ANY Monday update. Maybe. Tuesday everything is back to normal.
Breakfast this morning, including two poached eggs , sausage, bacon , fruit, juice, etc. at The PIER.
