THURSDAY UPDATE:  Weekend Storm System

Good morning!  We have a couple of quiet days ahead of us before a weekend storm system arrives. Today and Friday will be pretty nice. Expect mostly cloudy skies today. Today’s high of 63 is a little above normal.  Friday’s high in the upper 60’s will feel nice. We’re tracking an approaching storm system for the weekend.  Showers and thunderstorms will become likely, especially by Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. Some storms could reach Severe Limits with damaging wind gusts. A tornado or two can not be ruled out. The risk of leftover showers will continue Sunday morning. Meanwhile, expect some very mild temperatures over the next 10 days. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:  Cloudy today. Isolated showers are not out of the question.  Mild for December.  High 61.  Low tonight 47.    Breezy. East winds 10 to 15 gusting to 20-25 mph.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  The dry/mild weather continues Friday. High in the upper 60’s is not bad for December.  The next Big Deal will be an approaching weekend storm system.  Showers and thunderstorms will become likely, especially by Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. Some stronger storms are a good bet. Some storms could reach Severe Limits with damaging wind gusts. A tornado or two can not be ruled out.   The risk of leftover showers will continue Sunday morning.

Here’s Saturday set-up. It’s a rather robust storm system. Some storms could reach Severe Limits with damaging wind gusts. A tornado or two can not be ruled out. The greatest threat will be Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.

Herse’s the expected rainfall through Sunday.

Here’s the 10 Day model temperature blend.   We’ll be mild through the end of the year.  Expect a big cool-down as 2025 begins.
