Good morning! Finally, we are in for an extended thaw, which will continue well into the month of February. The Arctic Flood Gates are closed for the foreseeable future. We’ll be 60 or above today and Wednesday and the 70’s by Thursday. The next significant chance of rain arrives Friday. Showers and thunderstorms. The weekend looks dry with mild temperatures. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.
TODAY: Dense Fog Advisory this morning as far south as Troy/Eufaula . Then, Mostly sunny. High near 60. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Partly cloudy tonight. Low near 40.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Warmer temperatures are on the way. Expect 60’s Wednesday and 70’s on Thursday and Friday. We should be dry through Thursday. The next chance of rain arrives Friday. Showers and thunderstorms.
I would not be surprised is we have a few stronger storms Friday. Not sure if we’ll be included in a severe threat.

Mostly mild above normal temperatures on the EURO 16 Day Ensemble Temp Trend, except for a big set-back around February 9/10.
We ALL know, winter is FAR from over. However, we’re liking this pause and these optimistic products from the Climate Prediction Center. Enjoy the Thaw!
