Good morning! Our amazing Winter Thaw rolls on. Much above normal temperatures will continue for the next 5 days, if not longer. A frontal system near the Alabama/Tennessee line will haunt the state for the next few days. Risk of a few spotty showers this afternoon and this evening. We’ll continue the risk of showers, at times, tomorrow and through Monday. The daily rain chance will not be overwhelming and certainly not heavy. Most of the time it’ll be dry. TODAY: Denese Fog Advisory Till 9AM. Considerable cloudiness Limited sunshine. Continued warm. High 79. Risk of a few spotty showers this afternoon and this evening. Cloudy, mild tonight. Low 59.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Springtime in February continues. We’ll continue well above normal Thursday through Monday. (Normal 67/38 We’ll continue the risk of showers at times tomorrow and through Monday. The daily rain chance will not be overwhelming and certainly not heavy.

Here’s the 10 day model blend temperature trend. Very warm this week. Somewhat cooler next week, but not cold.

The next Big Deal? Late February 11 into February 12. (Next Week) Then, perhaps a second dose by February 14th? Stay tuned.

THREATENING RECORDS?:
I’ve adjusted the expected highs downward just a bit. Best chance of tying a record could be Saturday.

SEVERE WEATHER AWARENES: Severe weather awareness week in Alabama and adjoining states continues. Time for you and your family to gear up and prepare.
The peak season runs from now into May. We also have a secondary season in the Fall. Speaking in broader terms, it’s really become one long season from about late October to mid May. In 2023, 70 tornadoes touched down across Alabama. Unfortunately, 9 lives were lost, and over 29 were injured. Read more about preparedness here.
