Tis the season for severe weather and Alabama has a multi-day Severe Risk starting with a Marginal Level 1 risk covering much of the state west of I-65 today. Wednesday PM and through Wednesday night the risk increases as high as Level 2 for much of the western counties. Tornadoes can’t be ruled out, but by far the ominous threat of the week appears to be Saturday and particularly Saturday evening and Saturday night. Certainly could be the strongest tornado potential of the week. Stay tuned. We’ll know much more as we get closer.

Good morning! Get ready for a very active, very wet pattern for the next several days, as a Parade of Storm Systems line up one after another. Total rainfall in the week ahead could be easily 2-4” in central Alabama and 6-8” across the north. The wet & stormy weather pattern will stick around through the weekend. NI think there will be a nice window of quiet weather starting Thursday afternoon into early Saturday. We may have at least a couple of rounds of Severe Weather. The greatest threat window is Wednesday and again over the weekend, most likely Saturday. Temperatures will obviously be cooler than recently. We’ll be in the 70’s most days. Some day will only in the 60’s. It will be even much colder than that by next Monday. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.
