Quiet After The Storm

Good Morning! It’s a quiet start to this new week.  Temperatures are cooler today and chilly tonight.  But, expect a nice turnaround.  With plenty of sun, we’ll be back to the mid 70’s Tuesday and near 80 Wednesday.  The next chance of rain holds off until late Wednesday night.  But, no severe weather this time.  In fact, no severe weather is expected in the next 7 days.  It will turn quite a bit cooler Thursday.  But, warmer again by the weekend.  Widely scattered showers are possible Saturday. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.

TODAY:  Sunshine, a little breezy.  Cooler.  High 65.  NW 7-13 gusting as high as 20 mph. Clear, chilly tonight.  38.

.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Nice warm-up Tuesday and Wednesday. Near 80 by Wednesday.  The next cold front brings more rain late Wednesday night, but no Severe Weather this time.  It will turn sharply breezy and cooler Thursday.  Looks like patchy FROST by Friday morning with a low in the mid 30’s. Expect more widely scattered showers by Saturday.

Here’s the 10 day model blend temperature trend.  Warmest day is Wednesday.  Then, sharply cooler Thursday and Thursday night.

NEXT BIG DEAL?:   The next big deal storm system might be a week away.  Severe?  Don’t know this early.

TORNADO SURVEYS CONTINUE:  NWS Survey teams will be out again today.  So far, 6 surveys have been conducted.  Many more to go.  Perhaps a total of as many as 17 tornado tracks.  Of the 6 tornado tracks already identified, the most notable is the Dallas/Autauga/Chilton long track EF-3.  That’s the one that killed 2 in Plantersville.  Also, an EF-2 was surveyed in Talladega county.

Nationwide – about 67 tornadoes touched down from this storm system since Friday.  The death toll is at least 40 – three in Alabama.

POLLEN: ‘Tis the season. It’s getting BAD and this is just the early part of the Pollen Season.

Thanks for reading this blog update. This morning everything is normal.  We’ll be LIVE on NewsTalk 93.1.  There will be another Blog Update and Forecast Video discussion in the 4’o’clock hour tomorrow morning.  Have a good day.
