WEDNESDAY Update:  PM Random Storms Returning

Good morning!  That typical summertime pattern is taking over, for the next several days. Atlantic moisture is spreading westward.   The humidity will be rising today and Thursday as tropical moisture along the southeast US coastline engulfs the Southeast.  Scattered random showers and storms will return to the forecast today and Thursday.  The number of showers and thunderstorms will be in greater supply Friday through Sunday, especially in the afternoon and evening hours. The storms will be random.  Feast or famine.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY: Partial sunshine. High 88-90.  Light SE wind. Random scattered mostly PM Showers and storms.  More humid tonight.  Low near 70.  (Normal hi/lo 90/67)

Atlantic moisture is returning. Random showers and storms return to the radar today.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  . Scattered random showers and storms are returning to the forecast.  The number of  showers and thunderstorms will be in higher supply Friday through Monday, especially in the afternoon and evening hours.  Very humid.  Highs in the upper 80’s  and lower 90’s.

Some storms could be severe in parts of our state Friday and Saturday.

The Day 4 Saturday Risk, includes a Level 2 Risk as far south as a Troy/Greenville line.

We’re still looking at Sunday but the risk remains a tad more uncertain.

Expected rainfall through Monday.  This map speaks for itself.  Rainfall totals will vary widely from town to town because of the convective nature of the expected rainfall pattern.

TROPICAL UPDATE:    NHC is still monitoring a non-tropical low off the SE US coastline.  By this weekend, as the low moves northeastward, there is a low chance this low could acquire tropical characteristics. Right now, they are keeping the chances in the low range.

The EURO model has backed off on the Tropical depression probability through the weekend.  Meanwhile, the eastern Pacific is on fire.

BEACH OUTLOOK:  Not a washout, but be flexible with your plans.  Numerous showers and storms will be roaming around each day, most numerous in the afternoon and evening.
