WEDNESDAY  Update: Below normal Temps. Continue – Spotty PM Storms

Good morning!  We’ve been savoring a rare and refreshing stretch of cooler weather.  What a welcome change for August! Monday we had a high of 75.  Yesterday 81.  Normal high 94.  We’ll probably reach the upper 80’s through Friday, and maybe Saturday. We’ll be near 90 on Sunday and beyond.  As for rain, spotty, scattered afternoon and eveningstorms remain in the forecast, but chances are lower than we’ve seen recently. The tropics continue to blossom. Details below. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.

RECORD COOL TEMPS.:   On Monday, Montgomery’s high of 75 broke the record for coolest high in history.  Previous record 78 in 1881!   Tuesday we came close.  The high of 81 was close to the coolest High of 80 in 1984.

TODAY:   Mostly cloudy. Reasonable temperatures continue.    High near 87.  Random Scattered showers and thunderstorms today. Low tonight 71.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Scattered random showers and storms will be around each day through the weekend, most numerous in the afternoon and evening hours. Meanwhile,  “reasonable” temperatures  continue  – with upper 80’s daytime and night near 70.  The next 90 degree day will likely not be until the upcoming weekend.

Here’s the 10 Day Model Blend Temperature Trend.  It will slowly start to heat up again starting this weekend.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK:  Tropical Storm Dexter is still moving out in the open Atlantic. Bye, bye Dexter.
