FRIDAY Update: Rain Risk Returns

Good morning!  Expect weather changes.  Radar will be active today.  Showers and storms will be scattered to numerous today and Saturday, especially in the afternoon and evening hours. Today’s high (and Saturday) will be held down because of clouds and showers. Highs 80-82.  Expect more random scattered storms over the Labor Day weekend. But, not a washout. There will be more clouds than sun. Unfortunately, the humidity will return.  Dewpoints near 70 over the weekend.   Highs in the mid 80’s.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:  Mostly cloudy.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms, most numerous in the afternoon and evening hours.  High 81.  Low tonight 68.

Radar will be active today.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Showers and storms will be scattered to numerous Saturday.  Highs will be held down to the low 80’s due to clouds and showers.  Expect more random scattered storms over the rest of the Labor Day weekend. By Monday the storms will be widely scattered to isolated in nature. Highs will be in  the mid 80’s.

Unfortunately, our nice low humidity will fade out.  Dewpoints near 70 over the weekend.

Here’s the 10 Day Model Blend Temperature Trend.   We’re probably going to stay below 90 for a few more days.

BEACH OLUTLOOK:  Be flexible…It’ll be wet at times over the holiday weekend.  Showers and storms will be rather numerous Saturday.

RAINFALL through MONDAY:  Heaviest rainfall outlook near the Gulf Coast.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK:

There’s only one feature on the map.

There is an area to watch in the far east Atlantic off the African Coast, with a low probability of development in the next 7 days.

The EURO model suggest we need to watch the East Gulf and the SE coast next week for possible Depression Development.

KATRINA Anniversary:  One of the most prolific, intense and deadliest Hurricanes in U.S. History made landfall on this date 20 years ago today. Total Katrina death toll: 1,833.

FALL COUUNTDOWN:  The Autumnal Equinox is now just 24 days away.
