WEEKEND Update:  Dry, Cool Iron Bowl Saturday – Active Week Ahead – Wet at Times

Good Morning!   It’s another sub-freezing morning, on this Iron Bowl Saturday.  Today will be cooler than normal again.  High in the upper 50’s.  40’s during the Big Game in Auburn with 40’s expected.  We’re dry through the evening hours, but there could be some late night/pre-dawn showers.  There will be several rain intervals over the next 7 days and beyond.  The best chances will be daytime Sunday, Monday night into Tuesday.  Then another very wet surge Friday PM into Saturday.  More rain the following week. So, during this SEVERE drought – the news about the potential significant rainfall in the next 7 days is just what the doctor ordered. TODAY:   Sunny, with a high near 58. Southeast wind 6 to 12 mph.  Increasing clouds tonight.  Isolated pre-dawn showers?  Low  45.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  We’ll continue below normal for the week ahead.  (Normal hi/lo 66/41)  It’s not going to rain all the time, but there will be several rain episodes for the next 8 days or so.   The best chances will be daytime Sunday, Monday night into Tuesday.  Then another very wet surge Friday PM into Saturday.  More rain the following week.  Good news in this Severe Drought.

Here’s the anticipated rainfall through next Saturday.  If this verifies, this is excellent news for Drought-stricken Alabama.

Herse’s the 10 day model blend temperature trend.  I don’t see any 70’s.  But, I also don’t see any shocking Arctic Air.

Today Sunny, with a high near 57. Southeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight Partly cloudy, with a low around 43. East wind 5 to 10 mph.
