Good Morning! Dense Fog Advisory till 9am..then a great Christmas Day. It’s an absolutely phenomenal Christmas Day forecast. Yesterday we had a near record high of 78. Highs will be into the 70’s are expected through Sunday. But, hang on. Arctic Air is on the way. An approaching cold front will bring scattered showers by Sunday PM, followed by a major Arctic plunge. Monday night will plunge to the 20’s. Tuesday’s high will only be in the lower 40’s. Wednesday morning looks bitterly cold. A complete change of wardrobe. Here’s my brief video Discussion.
CLIMATE SUMMARY: The Christmas Eve High was nearly a Record. MGM’s high was 78 after a morning low of 48. Record high 79 in 2016. Normal: 60/38. Last Christmas High 64.
TODAY – Christmas Day: DENSE FOG ADVISORY. Dense fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 77. West wind 5 to 10 mph. TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54. Calm wind.

CHRISTMAS Past: I have now covered the weather for you 48 times. There have been some pretty interesting Christmas Days, to say the least Tuesday’s high will only be in the lower 40’s. Wednesday morning looks bitterly cold.

Normal hi/lo on Christmas Day would be 60/38.
Christmas Day Records: 82 in 2016 – and 5 in 1983.
The snowiest Christmas I covered for you was in 2010. Officially Montgomery has NEVER had a White Christmas officially since records began in 1872. CLOSE, though in 2010. To have an official White Christmas, you must have 1″ on ground. We had a whitening of ground. A trace. BUT, Auburn and even parts of Tallapoosa county did qualify.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Dry through Saturday. Highs in the 70’s are expected today through Sunday. But, Hang on cold weather fans. A major Arctic plunge is on the way. Monday night will plunge to the 20’s. Tuesday’s high will only be in the lower 40’s. Wednesday morning looks bitterly cold. Lower 20’s.

Get ready for the big Arctic Plunge. In the meantime, enjoy this Christmas week/weekend amazing warmth.

Thanks for reading this Blog this Christmas morning.. Have a Merry Christmas!
