TUESDAY Update:  Arctic Air in Control – Late Week Warming

Good Morning!  Dress in layers this morning.  At Dawn the thermometer will be in the 20’s but, the wind chill will be in the Teens…perhaps middle Teens.  A rude change after 77 on Sunday. Today’s high will only be in the lower 40’s. Tonight will be the coldest night.   Wednesday morning looks bitterly cold in the lower 20’s. On New Years Day we may tease 60 degrees.  Expect a late week warm-up. Middle 60’s by Friday & Saturday.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected late Friday and especially Friday night and into Saturday.  Some experimental Severe Weather Models suggests some strong/severe storms are not out of the question. ‘Tis the season for that, as you know. Here’s my brief video forecast Discussion.

TODAY:  Bitterly cold morning.  Dress in layers.  Sunshine today, but cold.  High 44.  (Normal 60/37) Not as windy.  NW wind at 6 to 13 mph gusting to 20 mph.    Clear and very cold tonight.  Low in the lower 20’s by Wednesday Dawn.

Here’s the expected wind chill at Dawn this morning.  Sunrise is at 6:47 am.

NEXT FEW DAYS:    Wednesday morning looks very cold.  Lower 20’s.  Expect a late week warm-up.  Mid 60’s by Friday & Saturday.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected late Friday and especially Friday night and into Saturday.  Some strong/severe storms are not out of the question.

These maps show the expected temperature anomaly (compared to normal).  Wednesday morning will be the coldest morning.  Look at the big turn around Friday.

Here’s the evolution of that next storm system over Texas to over Alabama Saturday AM.  Some experimental Severe Weather Models suggests some strong/severe storms are not out of the question.

Here’s the 10 Day Model Blend Temperature Trend.  Hang.  The evil Arctic Air will retreat fairly quickly.  Thank God.  😊

Ringing in the New Year Wednesday Night? New Years Eve Midnight.   Good luck.  I’ll be in bed.

Here’s my dog Chase enjoying the fire this morning.

Thanks for reading this Blog this morning. This morning we are LIVE on the radio from 6 to 9 on NewsTalk 93.1.  I’ll have another update for you in the 4  o’clock hour tomorrow morning.  Have a nice day.
