Good Morning! Cold weather fans will love this forecast for the week ahead. We are starting this day in the 20’s. Today’s high may not make it out of the 40’s. We’ll fall back to the 20’s tonight. And, that’s not all. Another Arctic Cold front will move through the state Wednesday night, ushering in the coldest air of the season so far. There could be some spotty showers Wednesday evening. Otherwise, it’s a dry forecast. The lowest wind chill morning will be Thursday morning with lower teens. Yet another reinforcing shot of cold air will arrive over the weekend. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.
TODAY: Mostly sunny and cold. Hi 49. Light wind. Partly cloudy and cold tonight. Low 28.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Below normal temperatures will continue all week. Another Arctic Cold front will move through the state Wednesday night, ushering in the coldest air of the season so far. Here’s the model blend 10 day expected rainfall outlook. There will multiple Arctic Temperature set-backs. Coldest air of the season so far with the next cold front arrives late Wednesday night. And, yet another “shot” over the weekend.

Here’s a peak at the EURO 16 day Ensemble outlook. It may be several days before temperatures go back above normal.

3 YEARS AGO – JAN 12, 2023 – SELMA / AUTUGA COUNTY TORNADOES:
A destructive high-end EF2 tornado struck Selma, causing widespread damage and two injuries. The same storm produced a long-lived EF3 tornado that moved through Autuga near Old Kingston, Titus, Equality, and then Lake Martin, resulting in seven fatalities and several injuries in Autauga County alone.

Selma and part of Autauga county has wind damage on Saturday, but it was all straight-line winds. A NWS survey crew could find no evidence of a tornado.
