Good Morning! After a historic, record tying 83 yesterday (ties the record from 1891), we are looking for a couple more warm February days today and Saturday. We will be well into 70’s both days. An approaching Cold Front which brought tornadoes to the Ohio valley yesterday, will increase our threat for scattered showers and storms today, tonight and Saturday. There is a Level 1 – Marginal Severe Risk now covering a huge part of southeast Alabama on Saturday. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat. Tornadoes can’t be ruled out. Then, get ready for a huge temperature plunge starting Sunday. Monday’s high will only reach the 40’s. We’ll be in the low to mid 20’s by dawn Tuesday. Quite a reality check again. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.
TODAY: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Very warm again. High 76-78°. (Record 83/2018) Windy. SW wind gusting as high as 20+ mph.
(Normal 66/41)
TONIGHT: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Very mild. Low 63.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Showers and thunderstorms are expected Saturday ahead of a cool front that will substantially lower temperatures by Sunday and especially Monday. Monday’s high will only be in the 40’s. Freezing Monday morning. Coldest morning: Middle 20’s Tuesday AM.

Big changes ahead as a cold front moves into the state. Expect a Huge temperature drop Sunday/Monday.

There is a Severe weather Risk for the lion share of Southeast Alabama Saturday – Level 1 Marginal. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat. Tornadoes can’t be ruled out.

The 10 Day model Blend Temperature Trend. Expect a nice rebound in our temperatures again by late next week.

DROUGHT MONITOR: Shows a HUGE chunk of our state in a Severe Drought. But, some counties are now in an Extreme Drought. Getting worse.

Here’s the expected rainfall through Sunday. Unfortunately, Not a lot – unfortunately.

DAYS TILL SPRING: 28 days!
