Good morning! The weekend cold front ushered in the chilly air and unfortunately not many raindrops. After a rather cold night, for so late in the season, we will start a temperature turn-around by this afternoon. We’re in for quite a rebound in the week ahead. Expect middle 80’s again by middle of the week. We are dry and storm-free at least through Thursday. A weekend storm system bears some watching. Will it include a Severe Weather component? Too early to say now. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.
TODAY: Sunshine. Not as cool today. Northeast wind 6 to 14 mph. High 79.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Tuesday will be another chilly jacket weather morning for so late in the season. We’re in for quite a rebound in the week ahead. Expect middle 80’s again by middle of the week. We are dry and storm-free at least through Thursday Risk of scattered showers Friday. Stormy at times over the upcoming weekend.
WEEKEND STORM SYTEM/FRONT: Showers and thunderstorms. I would say the best chance would be Saturday afternoon into Sunday. Will there be a severe weather component in the Saturday PM/Sunday storm system. Still too early to say. By the way, there will be a series of storm systems April 25 – May 3rd. An active period of time.
Too early to say if weather will affect the Talladega Race Sunday. It’s certainly possible. Stay tuned.
FIRE RISK GROWING: Critically dry fuels, strong winds, and low minimum relative humidity will keep fire weather conditions elevated through this week.
EXPECTED RAINFALL: This is the seven day outlook through Sunday with the weekend storms system.
