SATURDAY UPDATE:  Great Easter Weekend

You just couldn’t write a better script to the Easter Weekend forecast.  Sunshine will continue to dominate.  Cool nights and warm afternoons will continue.  What a treat!   We have an active weather week ahead, though.  Two storm systems are on the menu.  One mid week.  Another significant storm system will move in by the end of the week.

TODAY:   Sunshine, breezy and nice.  High id the low to mid 70’s.  Clear and kinda cool tonight.  Low by sunrise of Easter around 47.  Easter sunrise at 6:33AM.

Just perfect today, but a chilly Easter morning at sunrise is in the cards with lows in the upper 40’s.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   The warm up continues on Sunday and Monday, but the first of two storm systems brings in showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wednesday.

TWO STORM SYSTEMS THIS WEEK:  Both the Tuesday night/Wednesday and the Friday night/Saturday storm systems need to be watched very closely for a potential severe weather threat.  More on that in the morning.

Have a  great Easter Weekend. I’ll have another blog update in the morning and a complete video Monday morning at 4:45AM

Severe Weather Threat Today – Special Thursday Video

..Severe Weather Threat Today..  Potent system will sweep across the state today & this evening, with some strong, possibly severe storms.  Tornadoes are possible.  On this video, I’ll bring you up to date on the threat level, and the potential time line.  After the storm system clears the state, the stage is set for a really spectacular Easter Weekend.  I’ll update the details for here and the Gulf Coast Beaches.  Plus, there are two more storm systems after this one, in the next 10 days.  Feel free to share this important Thursday morning video update.

Lots of good information on this graphic on what to expect and the approximate time line.  Tornadoes are possible today.

The highest threat level today extends from the Georgia border all the way down to the Gulf Coast.

Don’t take these literally, but here’s a couple of future radar snapshots from the NAM model that will give you some sense on timing.

Absolutely spectacular Easter Weekend forecast.  Next storm system Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Looks like a total of three storm systems in the next 10 days…

Updated Severe Weather Threat for Thursday– Wednesday Video

Good Morning!  Our big warm-up continues.  But, all eyes are on our next storm system tomorrow.  A frontal system will bring a squall line across the state.  There’s a risk that some storms could be strong to severe.  My concern is just a notch higher, due to some better severe weather parameters. I have updated severe weather threat, and I have an update on timing and potential rain amounts.  Have you got big plans for the Easter weekend?  I have an update on a rather remarkable holiday weekend forecast for here and the Beach.  Your Wednesday morning personal weather briefing is packed with some good information.

We’re headed for the lower 80’s today, and today’s weather should be dry & tranquil.

The severe weather threat stays west of Alabama today and tonight.

Here’s the set-up for tomorrow, as a front approaches from the west with a Squall line (QLCS) moving across the state during the afternoon.

The threat parameters are a little higher tomorrow.  All of the area in a “Slight Risk”   Damaging wind gusts 60+ in the stronger storms and tornadoes are certainly possible.

Here’s a wider view of the whole state from the Storm Prediction Center…

AFTER the storm system…the Easter Weekend looks rather remarkable for here and the Gulf Coast Beaches.

Potent Late Week Storm System – Tuesday Video

Good Morning!  Yesterday’s chilly air is retreating, and we have a big mid week warm-up ahead.  But, the big story this week involves a Thursday storm system which could bring some strong to severe storms to the state, along with drenching rains.  I have the latest on timing, and an update on the severe weather potential. Plus, the latest on an Easter weekend forecast you’re going to like.  We have a busy and informative Tuesday morning weather briefing, with your toast and coffee this morning.

The Cool Wedge breaks down and retreats today, leading to a warmer day.

Great baseball weather at Riverwalk tonight!  Comfortable…

Warm-up Wednesday.  Potent  storm system Thursday.  Nice Easter weekend.

The greatest severe threat is generally along and west of I-65.  Tornadoes are not out of the question.  Damaging wind gusts to 60+ mph would be the main threat.  The eastern counties will see a lesser threat Thursday afternoon.

This Map from SPC shows the wider perspective of the threat for the entire state.
