WEEKEND Update:  Cold Upper Trough – Chilly End to 2023

Good Morning!   It’s cold.  Spotty light snow flurries are occurring across the northern third of the state. Today will be another chilly day with the high near or just above 50.  We’re headed to freezing, again, tonight.  Sunshine will dominate the New Years weekend, but it will continue chilly. A couple of Gulf coast disturbances will affect us as the new year begins.  Chance of showers arrives New Years morning. Another storm system will bring more rain next Wednesday. With both of those disturbances, the best rain chance will be across the southern counties.

TODAY:    Partial sunshine, then becoming Sunday.   High will struggle to reach the 51.  West wind 5 to 10. MPH.  Clear and cold tonight.  Low near 30.

That COLD upper through up at 20,000 feet continue to keep us quite chilly.

NEXT FEW DAYS:    Sunshine will dominate the final day of 2023.  Sunday will not be quite as cold.  We’ll be near 60.   The next chance of showers arrives New Years Day. The second storm system brings more rain to the forecast next Wednesday the 3rd.  Temperatures will stay below normal.

MIDNIGHT NEW YEARS EVE:   Mostly cloudy.  44°.  Wind: SW at 5.  DRY.

Here’s the expected rainfall through the next 7 days.   A couple of Gulf coast disturbances will affect us as the new year begins.  Chance of showers arrives New Years morning. Another storm system will bring more rain next Wednesday. With both of those disturbances, the best rain chance will be across the southern counties.

Here’s the 10 Day Model Temperature Trend. In a word..BLAND.   We’re into an extended pattern of Chilly weather.

Thanks for reading this Blog this morning!  The next scheduled Blog update will be New Years morning.  Happy New Year.
