WEDNESDAY Update:  January Ends Cool & Uneventful – Warm-up Ahead – Rain by Sunday

Good Morning!  January ends today on an uneventful note.  We’re storm-free and dry through Saturday. Cooler air is sweeping in. Today will  breezy and about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday.  Warmer days are on the way as February begins.  We’ll be in the upper 60’s by Friday & Saturday.  Next chance of rain will be on arriving Saturday night.  Could be a Southern “soaker” on Sunday into Monday.  Rain and thunderstorms.   Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:  Sunshine, breezy and much cooler today, behind a weak cool front. Yesterday’s  high was 66.  Today we’ll be closer to 56.  Northwest wind 11 to 16 gusting to 20+ mph.  Clear and cold tonight.  Another freeze.  Low 32 on the first morning of February.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  We will continue dry and storm-free through Saturday, as February begins.  .  We’ll be near the freeze mark Thursday morning.     Warmer Friday and Saturday as the mercury recovers to  the upper 60’s.  Rain and maybe some thunderstorms arrive Saturday night.  Sunday and Monday look quite wet.

Here’s the 10 day Model Blend Temperature trend.  The Arctic Flood gates are closed for now.  That could certainly change by Mid February through early March.
