Good Morning! DENSE FOG ADVISORY. If you are up early, the fog will be particularly dense through 9AM, with visibility of a quarter of a mile or less. This is a big holiday travel morning. Please big careful.
Are you ready for more changes? Here comes the next cold front, which will bring in showers and a few thunderstorms later, then sharply colder air tomorrow through the middle of the week, before temperatures moderate. There will likely be another storm system by next weekend.
Here’s the set-up map by 6PM tonight, with the first of 2 cold fronts on the way tonight.
TODAY: After the dense fog this morning…it will be a cloudy, mild day with a high near 70. Showers could start popping up just after lunchtime, with a better chance of showers and thunderstorms by late afternoon and tonight, ahead of cold front. Showers/storms will taper off between Midnight and 3AM. SPC says some of the storms near the coast could reach severe limits. No severe weather expected for most of us.
Here’s a couple of Future radar snapshots this afternoon & this evening. Showers and even a few thunderstorms.
SHARPLY COLDER EARLY & MID WEEK: Much colder air funnels in tomorrow. Highs will only reach the lower 50’s. A brisk breeze will make it seem colder. We’ll be close to the freeze mark on Monday and perhaps a bit colder Tuesday AM. Tuesday’s high may not quite make it to the 50 degree mark.
NEXT FEW DAYS (through Thursday): COLD Monday through Wednesday, then a little warmer Thursday and Friday. We’ll be storm free till the end of the week. Showers will increase on Friday night, and showers and thunderstorms become likely by Saturday.
LONG RANGE TEASER: Briefly, I’ve been to the mountain top, and I have seen a very interesting profile of the next 15-16 days. It’s going to be what’s called a “progressive” pattern, featuring fast moving changes, with a series of storm systems and several shots of cold air. In fact, looking into the first and second week of December, some extremely cold air will enter the country. Stay tuned. I’ll get into this a little more on my video in the morning.

I will have you a complete video update Monday morning online by 4:45AM. We’ll get deeper into the details of some colder, and very active times ahead.
