THURSDAY Update:  Late Season Cool-snap – Much Cooler Days – Cold Nights

Good Morning!  This will be a very abbreviated update this morning.  We’ll get back to a few video tomorrow morning. Get ready for a big change!  Much cooler air is funneling into the state behind the big storm.  Expect a series of storm-free days through the weekend.  Chilly nights ahead, and unusually cool for April.   Nights will be quite cold.  Yesterday’s high in Montgomery was 85.  Today, we will probably be in the upper 60’s, with gusty winds today & tonight.

North Alabama (north of I-20) will be close to the freeze mark by dawn Saturday and near freezing or below Sunday morning.  The rest of us will be in the upper 30’s both Saturday and Sunday morning.

This morning the cold front has cleared the state and has made it into Florida.

A giant upper level Low will allow a series of reinforcing Cold Fronts to rotate into Alabama like spokes on a wheel.

TODAY:  Windy and much cooler.  Good but of sunshine, especially mid-day and afternoon. High today 69.  West wind at 10 to 20 mph and gusty.  Mainly clear and cold tonight.  Low 44

FRIDAY:  Sunshine.  Windy.  High low to mid 60’s.  Gusty west wind 10 to 20 mph.   Very cold for April Friday night.  Low upper 30’s.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Sunshine will dominate Friday through Monday.  Very Cool days and Cold at night.  A little warmer, and pretty nice Sunday afternoon.  Warmer Monday.  The coldest morning will be Sunday morning.  The risk of showers returns Monday night into Tuesday.

POLLEN:  Unfortunately, the pollen count will remain in the HIGH range for the next few days.  I don’t see any improvement.

STORM REPORTS:  Lots of reports of large hail and wind damage across the southeast US again Wednesday.  Plus, 12 additional reports of tornadoes.  That would be 50 tornado reports in two days.   The South has been beat up with severe weather over the last three weeks.

Thanks for reading this brief Blog this morning.  We’ll get back to a video update tomorrow morning.  Tomorrow everything will return to normal.
