FRIDAY UPDATE:  Elevated Rain Chance – Tropics Getting Busy

Good Morning!  Like Wednesday and yesterday, radar will be quite active again today..  The storms will be random, but there will be locally heavy downpours.  In fact, the elevated rain chance will be around through the weekend. Otherwise, it’ll be hot & humid each day.  Be flexible with your outdoor plans this weekend for here and on the coast.  The Tropics are all of a sudden on fire.. NHC is tracking two Invests.  In fact 95-L has a 90% chance of developing to Tropical Storm, and perhaps HURRICANE before it reaches the islands. Air Force RECON will investigate today.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:     A Sun/cloud mix.  Hot and humid  again.  High in the low to mid 90’s.  A generous supply of Scattered random storms will develop, especially by afternoon and evening. Low tonight 74.

Showers and storms will be rather numerous, especially by late this afternoon.  Here’s an example of two hi-res Future Radar afternoon examples this afternoon.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Radar will be quite over the next few days.  The storms will be random, but there will be locally heavy downpours.  The elevated rain chance will be around through the weekend. Otherwise, it’ll be hot & humid each day.  Expect mid 90’s over the weekend and upper 90’s early next week.

TROPICAL UPDATE:   NHC has three “X”s on the map one in the southern Caribbean heading for the Gulf. But, the star of the show is Invest 95-L.  In fact 95-L has a 90% chance of developing to Tropical Storm, and perhaps HURRICANE before it reaches the islands. Air Force RECON will investigate today.  The next two available names are Beryl and Chris.

Both the EURO and GFS Ensembles show 95-L will track westward in the Caribbean and eventually into the Gulf next several days. Growing stronger. Likely to become a hurricane and perhaps even a major hurricane.

Here’s the model wind intensity forecast.  The Future Beryl could be a big deal.

Thanks for reading the blog. There will be another complete Blog update and video forecast discussion tomorrow morning.  This morning, everything is normal including LIVE on the Radio from 6 to 9AM on NewsTalk 93.1 – WACV.  Have a nice day!!
