THURSDAY UPDATE: High and Dry Next Several Days

Good morning!  It’ still a quiet, uneventful forecast for the next several days. We continue to be dry and rather hot for September.  Wednesday’s high was 92.  Today we’ll be near 90.  In fact, we’ll be near 90 each day through Monday. Summer is not done yet.  (Normal 89/66).  We continue to monitor an Area to Watch in the west Caribbean.   All the Global models hint at trouble in the Gulf,  eventually, but not right away. Most of the long range models hold off on developing this system in the Gulf until the last few days of the month.  So, we have time to watch this.   Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:  Mostly Sunny. Hot and dry.  High 90.   Low tonight 67.  Light wind.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  It’s a quiet forecast for the next several days.   Hot and dry through at least Tuesday.  Fall officially begins Sunday the 22nd. We’ll be 90-92 each day through Monday.  Lows at night in the 60’s to near 70.

It’s basically a dry forecast through Tuesday.

TROPICAL UPDATE:  We continue to monitor an Area to Watch in the west Caribbean.   All the Global models hint at trouble in the Gulf,  eventually, but not right away.. Right now NHC is giving it a medium 40% chance.

Here’s the EURO Tropical Storm Probability for the next 10 days.

The Climate prediction Center seems to indicate this process could take a few days before activity spreads to the Gulf.  We’ll see.

Now the Global models.  I selected next Thursday Sept. 26.   Notice the EURO favors the SW Gulf.

While the GFS and Canadian CMC favors the central and north central Gulf.  This is why we need to keep an extra close watch on this potential developing system for the next several days.

The GFS and CMC want to bring this system basically to our shore,  Stay tuned.

HONESTLY, There are a couple of graphics that I chose NOT to show you this morning. I’ll leave it at that.

Elsewhere in the Tropics, NHC is monitoring an Area to Watch in the Atlantic and the Remnants of Gordon.

Thanks for reading the blog. There will be another complete Blog update and video forecast discussion tomorrow morning.  This morning, everything is normal including LIVE on the Radio from 6 to 9AM on NewsTalk 93.1 – WACV.  Have a nice day!
