WEEKEND UPDATE: Chilly at Night – But, Warmer Days

1:00 PM UPDATE:

What a surprise! Oscar went from Invest 94-L, to tropical storms, to now, Cat 1 Hurricane Oscar, rapidly intensifying within a few hours. Oscar is the second storm to get named today as Nadine nears the central American coast. #OSCAR

Good morning!  The nights and the mornings are still chilly, but we are starting to turn around, as the recent Canadian Chill continues to fade and retreat.  The warm-up is underway.  It should be a great weekend.  We’ll be in the mid 70’s today, and near 80 Sunday.  Next week will be a lot warmer, with highs in the 80s and lows in the 50’s.  Not only that.  It looks like an extended period of above normal temperatures over the next couple of weeks, through the end of October into early November.  And, still it’s a storm-free, dry forecast as the Drought expands.

TODAY:  Sunshine.  A little warmer.   High 76.  Light wind. Clear still chilly tonight.  Low 46.

Yesterday’s low was 39 and the high was 73.  (Normal hi/Lo 80/54)

NEXT FEW DAYS:   It’s a dry forecast for several more days. A Warm-up is underway. We’ll tease 80 degrees on Sunday. Next week will be much warmer.  Highs in the 80’s will be back with 50’s at night.

The 10 Day Model Blend Temperature Trend. Next week will be much warmer than this week.

The drought continues to expand and it’s a dry forecast for the next 7 to 10 days.

The Climate Prediction Center has above normal temperatures for much of the nation for the next couple of weeks.

TROPICAL UPDATE:  Invest 95-L was named  NADINE by NHC off the coast of central America.  It’ll have a short life as it moves westward.

It happened very quickly. Invest 94-L has been prompted to Tropical Storm Oscar about 190 miles ESE of the Southeast Bahamas. Expected to bring Tropical Storm conditions to the far SE Bahamas. #oscar
