Happy Friday! Another active weather day, and once again a large part of the area is under a severe weather threat. We’ll be monitoring clusters of storms which develop, not only today, but over the weekend, too. I’ll update you on the severe weather risk, and the daily rain chance through Father’s day weekend and beyond. Plus, National Hurricane Center has its eyes on the Gulf of Mexico.
Like yesterday, the Storm Prediction Center has much of the area in a Marginal Severe weather risk. Here again today, the biggest threat is damaging wind gusts. Hail is also possible.
The higher than normal rain chances will be around all Father’s Day Weekend, with at least 50% coverage both days. That includes the beaches, too.
National Hurricane Center now says that “Area to Watch” has a 50% chance of development over the south central Gulf over the next few days.
The global models are all over the place on where development could occur. I also included the Canadian model, just for your entertainment. It is certainly a radical outlyer. That solution is highly unlikely.
