SATURDAY UPDATE:  Unusually Cool for April – Cold Nights Continue

Good Morning!   It’s as if the hands of time have been turned back about six weeks.  Alabama is quite cold this morning, especially for so late in the season.  North Alabama even has a frost advisory.  A huge upper through continues to funnel unusually cool air southward.  Today’s high will struggle to reach the mid 60’s.  We’re headed for the 30’s again tonight.  Normal high 77, low 51.

It won’t last too long.  A nice warm-up begins Sunday afternoon.  We’ll be close to 80 Monday.  Widely scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm start to pop up Monday & Tuesday.  But, the better rain chances hold off until Wednesday night and Thursday.

TODAY:  A Cold start.  Sunshine.  Windy & unusually cool for April.  High 64. West wind at 10 to 20 & gusty.  Clear and quite cold tonight.  Low 38 by Sunday Dawn.

SUNDAY:  Another Cold start.  Sunshine.  Nice afternoon warm-up.  High 78.  Increasing clouds Sunday night.  Low 52.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Cold Sunday morning.  A nice warm-up begins Sunday afternoon.  We’ll be close to 80 Monday.  Widely scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm start to pop up Monday & Tuesday.  But, the better rain chances hold off until Wednesday night and Thursday.

SEVERE THREAT?:   Will we see severe weather for the fourth week?  Maybe.  There’s no doubt that the Best dynamics for severe weather Monday and Tuesday will be in the Plains states.  But, as the storm system evolves eastward, it is not out of the question that strong to severe storms will move into western Alabama in the overnight hours late Wednesday night.  The models are not agreeing on the details.  Stay Tuned.

POLLEN:  The news is the same.  Day after day the pollen count continues in the high range.

I’ll have another Blog update in the morning.  Enjoy this beautiful weekend weather.
