SATURDAY Update:  Cool Days/Cold Nights for Now – Milder Thanksgiving Week

Good Morning!  Brief update this morning… Our extended string of very cool days and cold nights continue. The well below normal pattern will continue through the weekend and beyond. There will be a very small rain chance this afternoon and tonight across the southern half of Alabama as a disturbance brushes by the Gulf coast.  Temperatures will be a little milder Thanksgiving week, but still below normal.  Scattered showers are in the Thanksgiving outlook.

TODAY:  Clouds will increase today as a little Gulf disturbance effects the area.  Generally, we should be dry here in central Alabama.  But, I’ll put in the smallest rain chance possible.  20% or less today and tonight.  Today’s high will be much like yesterday…near 56.  Northwest wind 5 to 10.  Mainly cloudy tonight.  Low 36.

Here’s a hi-res Future Radar example showing a little light rain mainly across the southern half of Alabama by later this afternoon & this evening.  This may be a little overdone.

NEXT FEW DAYS:    Sunday will be quite chilly with highs only in the lower 50’s.    Temperatures will moderate a bit Thanksgiving week.  We could see upper 60’s perhaps by Thanksgiving.   Tiny rain chance Monday night into Tuesday.  Better chance of scattered showers by Thursday.

Here’s the ten day temperature model blend. Temperatures will be a little more reasonable Thanksgiving week. Thank God.
