WEDNESDAY Update:  Spring-Like Warmth – Holiday Storm System

Good Morning!   Expect Spring-like temperatures on this huge pre-holiday travel day.  In fact, with abundant sunshine, I expect out high to be near 70.  Normal High 68.  Great travel weather.  Enjoy, because we have a storm system on the way, which could have a big impact on the Thanksgiving weekend holiday plans. Storm at times Thursday night through Saturday.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:  Should be a simply wonderful day.  Abundant sunshine.  High near 70. NE wind 5 to 10 today.  Partly cloudy, not as cool tonight.  Overnight low 51.

Good travel day today!

NEXT FEW DAYS:    Much of the day on Thanksgiving will be dry & mild.   However, we have a significant storm system approaching that could affect a lot of holiday plans.  The storm system will come in multiple parts.  Part one will bring widespread showers & storms to the state by Thursday night into Friday.  Another potent round of showers & storms will affect the area Friday night & Saturday.   Dry weather returns for Sunday and Monday.  Most highs will be in the 60’s.

Complex Storm system, powered by a large upper Low,  will come in multiple parts.

What about the IronBowl Saturday afternoon. Right now I am cautiously optimistic that there may be a brief break between impulses. Perhaps the final round of showers & storms may hold off until Saturday night. Here’s the GFS, suggesting that one round of storms will be departing by about lunchtime before the next round of storms Saturday night. We’ll see….

Rainfall amounts through Saturday could be significant.
