SATURDAY Update:   Front Approaching – Risk of a Few Strong Storms

Good morning!  Much of this day will be storm-free.  But, there is a front approaching the state.  Showers and storms will enter west Alabama and move eastward.  By late afternoon and this evening, a line of strong storms could touch off a warning or two.  Damaging wind gusts is the main threat.  Sunday, behind the front will be quieter. It looks like a good day.  The chance of shower will be remote.  Highs in the mid 80’s.  Another round of showers and storms will arrive by Monday afternoon.  But, on the whole, much of next week looks pretty nice, especially Tuesday through Friday.

TODAY:  Fairly comfortable, again.   High 86. Much of the day will be dry.  Partial sunshine.  By later this afternoon, and through this evening and tonight, showers and thunderstorms will be scattered to numerous.  A few storms could be strong, possible severe.  Storms will end by late tonight.  Low 67.

An approaching front will be the catalyst for today’s showers & storms.

Here’s Future Radar.  For a lot of us the best chance of strobger showers and storms will be late this afternoon and this evening.

The Storm Prediction Center has most of Alabama in a level 1 Marginal Severe Risk today and tonight.  Damaging wind gusts are possible in the stronger storms.

SUNDAY:  Behind the front, Sunday should be a pretty good day.  High in the middle 80’s.  Partial sunshine.  Rain chance not zero, but generally 20% or less.  Low Sunday night 67.

NEXT FEW DAYS:    Another round of showers and storms will move in by Monday afternoon.  But, much of the next week looks pretty good, especially Tuesday through Friday.  Nice week ahead

BEACH FORECAST:  Pretty nice today.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday and Monday.  Gulf water temperature 82°.    Moderate Rip Current Risk.
