Tornado Watch covers much of south & southwest Alabama until 6PM. The watch extends as far east as Butler, Crenshaw and Covington counties. Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds of 60+ mph are also possible in and near the watch area.
Elsewhere, watches and warnings may be needed for other parts of the state later. SPC has much of west and SW Alabama under a Slight Risk for severe storms, with an Enhanced risk near the coast. A few tornadoes are possible. A marginal risk continues for much of east and central Alabama. The main threat in the Marginal Risk area is damaging wind gusts.
