WEDNESDAY Update:  Flirting With Record Highs? – Dry Through Friday

Good Morning!    Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.

TODAY:  Expect lots of sunshine.  Hot for May.  High 96.  Normal High 86.  Record high 97 from 1962. Southwest wind at 5 to 10.   Mainly clear.  Warm tonight.  Low 70.

Potential Record Breaking Wednesday across the South.
 .

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Hot days on the way and continued dry..  Lots of sunshine.    Near 96 again Thursday.   Flirting with the record high of 97, from 1962.  Over the weekend a front approaches.  Scattered thunderstorms return for Saturday & Sunday, and perhaps a few leftover Monday.

.

BEACH FORECAST:   I wish the news was better at the Beach this weekend.  Friday is the best day.  Widely scattered thunderstorms.  Showers and thunderstorms are quite likely Saturday and Sunday.  Stay out of the water.  High rip current risk. Gulf water now 79 degrees.

FUTURE GULF TROPICAL MISCHIEF?:   The long range models, especially the GFS,  keep hinting we need to monitor the Gulf over the next 15 days.  We’ll continue to watch..

ELSEWHERE: While we continue to watch the tropics, Denver and Colorado is getting ready for a Record May Snowstorm by Saturday. Crazy. Three feet in spots.
